I was charged after cancelling my plan
If you cancelled your artist.tools subscription but still see a charge on your card, you're not alone. This happens due to how Stripe (our payment processor) handles subscription timing, and we're happy to help resolve it.
Why this happens
There are two common scenarios where a charge occurs after cancellation:
1. Cancellation timing near renewal
If you cancel within a few minutes of when your subscription is set to renew, the payment may already be processing. Stripe begins processing renewals slightly before the exact renewal time, so even quick cancellations can miss the cutoff.
2. Failed payment retry (collection mode)
If a previous payment failed, Stripe automatically retries the charge over several days. If you cancel during this retry period, a delayed payment may still come through as Stripe attempts to collect the outstanding balance.
This is how Stripe Subscriptions is designed to handle billing cycles and payment retries. Unfortunately, it's outside our direct control, but we apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
How to get a refund
We're happy to refund any post-cancellation charges. Here's what to do:

Your account email address
The date and amount of the charge
A brief note that you were charged after cancelling
We typically process refunds within 1-2 business days, and the funds will return to your original payment method.
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for all subscriptions, and we handle post-cancellation charges on a case-by-case basis with priority support.
Preventing future charges
To confirm your subscription is fully cancelled and no future payments will occur:
Check your subscription status in the Stripe customer portal
Verify there are no upcoming scheduled payments
If you see any scheduled renewals or active subscriptions, use the portal to cancel them immediately.
Even after cancelling, you'll retain access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period. You won't lose access immediately.
