Free Playlist Submission Options

artist.tools is a data platform that helps you discover playlists and identify contact information, but doesn't facilitate submissions directly. On the free plan, you can search playlists and see what contact types are available, though the actual contact details (email addresses, Instagram handles) are only visible on paid plans.

What's Available on the Free Plan

The free plan lets you search and filter playlists by contact type using Playlist Search. You'll see which playlists have contact information available, displayed as badges:

  • Email — Contact info listed on free, but values locked (🔒) until you upgrade

  • Instagram — Listed but locked (🔒)

  • SubmitLink — Displayed and accessible (green "SL" badge with link)

  • SubmitHub — Listed but no link on free plan

  • Groover — Listed but no link on free plan

  • DailyPlaylists — Listed but no link on free plan

Finding Playlists with Free Submission Options

To find playlists you can contact for free:

  1. Go to Playlist Search in the sidebar

  2. Click the Contacts filter and select contact types you want (e.g., "SubmitLink" or "Has any contact info")

  3. Browse the results—playlists with SubmitLink will show a green "SL" badge

  4. Click into a playlist to view the Contacts section

  5. For SubmitLink playlists, click the button to submit through their platform (some curators offer free submissions, though this varies)

For submission platforms like SubmitHub, Groover, or DailyPlaylists, you can manually search for the playlist name on those platforms since we don't provide direct links on the free plan. SubmitLink and DailyPlaylists may offer free submission options depending on the curator's preferences, but there are no guarantees.

Cold Outreach via Email or Instagram

If you upgrade to a paid plan and gain access to email addresses or Instagram handles, keep these best practices in mind:

  • It's a numbers game — Expect low response rates. Follow up politely and engage with curators on social media to stand out.

  • Avoid paid placements — Steer clear of curators who openly request money for playlist spots. This violates Spotify's policy, and curators who advertise paid placements often have an incentive to bot their playlists.

  • Paid placements exist, but proceed carefully — Larger artists and teams sometimes engage in paid placements, but this should be approached with awareness of Spotify policy risks. Always review a playlist's growth data and come to your own conclusions. Our bot detection ratings are not guaranteed, and there may be nuances in the data our system hasn't flagged.
