Changing Your Password or Email
You can manage your password and email address from your account settings. Depending on how you signed up (Google, password, or legacy OAuth), you may need to add a password before you can change your email.
To change your email, you must have a password set on your account. If you signed up with Google or a legacy OAuth provider, you'll need to add a password first.
Accessing Your Account Settings
Log in to your account and go to https://app.artist.tools/settings/account. You can also click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select "Account Settings" from the dropdown.
Adding a Password (Google or Legacy OAuth Users)
If you signed up with Google or another OAuth provider and want to change your email or add password login, you first need to set a password.
To add a password:
Go to Account Settings
Scroll to the "Connected Accounts" section
Under "Password", click the "Set Password" button (or "Add Password")
Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters) and confirm it
Click "Submit"
You'll see a confirmation message: "Password connected. You can now change your email and reset your password." Once your password is set, you can change your email and unlink Google if needed.
Setting a password gives you an alternative way to sign in if Google login is slow or unavailable.
Changing Your Email
Before you start: If you have a Google account connected, you must unlink it before changing your email (see below).
To change your email:
Make sure you have a password set (see "Adding a Password" above)
If Google is connected, unlink it first (see "Unlinking Your Google Account" below)
Go to Account Settings
Click "Change Email"
Enter your new email address
Click "Submit"
We'll send a verification email to your new address to confirm the update.
If you see "This email is managed by your Google account" or the email field is disabled, you need to add a password and unlink Google first.
Unlinking Your Google Account
If you want to change your email and have Google connected, you must unlink Google first. You can only unlink Google after you've set a password.
To unlink Google:
Make sure you have a password set (see "Adding a Password" above)
Go to Account Settings
Scroll to the "Connected Accounts" section
Under "Google", click the "Disconnect" or "Unlink" button
You'll see a confirmation: "Google disconnected. You can connect a different Google account whenever you're ready." After unlinking, you'll sign in with your password instead.
If the "Disconnect" button is disabled or you see "Add a password before removing Google", you must set a password first to ensure you can still sign in.
Changing or Resetting Your Password
If you have a password set:
Go to Account Settings
Under "Password", enter your new password
Confirm the password and click "Update"
If you forgot your password:
Go to the login page
Click "Forgot password"
Enter your email address
Check your email for a password reset link
Click the link and set a new password
If you have a Google account with the same email and only have a password set, you can also sign in with Google. This will link Google to your account and give you both sign-in options.
Troubleshooting Sign-In Issues
If you're experiencing login delays or errors, try these steps:
Login taking too long: Wait at least 30 seconds on the login page after clicking "Sign In" (you should see a loading or "Logging in" state). Login can sometimes take longer than expected.
Try alternative sign-in methods:
If you normally use a password but have a Google account with the same email, try signing in with Google
If you only have Google, try the "Forgot password" option to receive a password reset email that lets you set a password and sign in that way
If you normally use Google, try adding a password (after signing in) for a backup login method
Still can't sign in? Contact our support team via the support chat or email support@artist.tools. Include details about what you're experiencing, and we'll help resolve the issue.
Delete Your Account
If you need to permanently delete your account, you'll find the option at the bottom of the Account Settings page. This action is irreversible.
