Why is my data showing Queued or Unchecked?

artist.tools displays status labels like Unchecked, Queued, and N/A to tell you whether a metric is ready to view. These labels are not errors. They reflect the current state of our data pipeline relative to the entity you are looking at.

What each label means

Unchecked

An entity was added to our system automatically or indirectly — not through a direct user request — and some resource-intensive metrics have not been calculated yet.

How to resolve: Click the Update button on the entity page, or paste the URL into the Bot Checker or Search. Wait a few moments for the data to refresh.

Queued

The data is being fetched from external APIs. This is normal for keyword pages and some SEO metrics.

What this means:

  • The data is currently being retrieved

  • It will typically be available within 24 hours

  • You can click the Update button to force a refresh

N/A or blank fields

This usually means one of the following:

  • Insufficient data: The entity is too new or inactive for Spotify to provide this metric. Playlists need 7+ days of data for listener estimates.

  • API sync delay: Temporary delay in syncing data from downstream providers

  • API outage: Downstream providers may be temporarily unavailable

  • Data not available: This metric is not available on this specific entity type

Why you cannot edit historical data

artist.tools captures snapshots of Spotify data at specific intervals. We do not allow editing historical data points because:

  • The data is a record of what Spotify reported at a specific time

  • Editing it would create an inaccurate historical record

  • Our charts and trend analysis depend on consistent, unmodified snapshots

If a data point looks wrong, use the Update button to pull the latest values from Spotify. If the issue persists, contact support with the entity URL and the specific metric.

Troubleshooting stuck data

If "Unchecked" won't go away

  1. Confirm you're viewing the correct entity URL

  2. Try the Update button multiple times with 1-2 minutes between attempts

  3. Check back in 24 hours — some metrics require overnight processing

  4. If still showing, the data likely isn't available from Spotify for this entity

If metrics suddenly show N/A

  • Check if Spotify is experiencing an outage (search "Spotify API status")

  • Wait 30-60 minutes and refresh the page

  • Contact support if the issue persists beyond 24 hours

If data seems outdated

  • Most metrics refresh every 10-24 hours automatically

  • Use the Update button to force a refresh for specific entities

  • Check the "Last Updated" timestamp on the entity page

When to contact support

Reach out if:

  • Metrics show "Unchecked" for more than 48 hours after multiple Update attempts

  • Critical metrics (followers, popularity) are consistently N/A or unchecked across multiple entities

  • You see error messages when trying to update data

Include the entity URL, which metric is affected, and screenshots when contacting support.
